every time an ambulance goes by all the dogs in bynum howl along with the siren
it's creepy but it's also kind of beautiful in a macabre sort of way
especially late at night
they join in one at a time
so it builds up
in volume
and together they wail with the ambulance
speeding through the night
& i press my face against the screen
and stare into the black
& wonder whose life is coming undone
